Make Works, a global network

We from Make Works are a global network of regions. We ideate, create and make in a distributed yet local way.

Make Works are making manufacturing accessible. Think of it like a public library. An open resource made by dedicated factory finders where you can discover skilled manufacturers, tools and materials to make work in your area.

If you are trying to get in touch with a region specifically, then you can find their details here.

Budapest represents a strong center in commerce, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment in Hungary. It’s is characterized by diverse industry players with an emerging sector of light industries such as textile, paper, wood, and crafts. Our aim is to support the local creative community by making the emerging creative hub of Budapest more accessible and visible globally.

At Make Works Derby & Derbyshire we are driven by the bespoke, forward-thinking making and manufacturing happening on our doorstep, and are driven by co-producing opportunities to build connections, share knowledge and support growth within our region. By working collaboratively with local companies, professional film maker Andy Taylor-Smith, and Derby Museums staff and volunteers we aim to build these networks and promote change through our Make Works region.

In Scotland, we support local networks and communities to use Make Works. We raise awareness of the skills, knowledge and capability of local manufacturers, fabricators and makers to shift the perception of manufacturing, design, craft, making and repair in Scotland. We work alongside manufacturers and makers to share their work and support our local economy.
